August 11th: Part 3 chapters 18-24 & conclusion

In the book My Grandmother’s Hands:  Racialized Trauma and the Pathway to Mending Our Hearts and Bodies therapist and author Resmaa Menakem examines the damage caused by racism in America from the perspective of trauma and body-centered psychology.  The book is a call to action for all of us to recognize that racism is not only about the head, but about the body, and introduces an alternative view of what we can do to grow beyond our entrenched racialized divide.

Read the book and engage in the body-centered practices described in each chapter. In our weekly sessions together, we will share our reactions to and experiences with engaging our mind and body with the book and its practices.
