Who are we and what do we do
We are a 100% volunteer-run food pantry in the Merrimack Valley, providing food assistance to individuals with food insecurity. The Pantry was established in 1992 by Cari and Mel Marchese; Cari was volunteering at another soup kitchen/pantry in Lawrence and perceived that there was unmet need.
The Peoples Pantry is a member of the Merrimack Valley Food Bank located in Lowell, MA. The Merrimack Valley Food Bank provides both Massachusetts Emergency Food Assistance Program (MEFAP) and USDA food which supply the core of our food supply. In addition, local retail stores, bakeries and farmers generously donate fresh food for our pantry guests.
Operation information
Hours
7:30 am until 10:30 am on alternate Tuesday mornings, twelve months a year. Follow us through Events listings. Please bring your own bags, if possible!
Location
At the North Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 190 Academy Road, North Andover, MA. Entrance door is in the rear back garden (see building map).
Shopping experience
Each guest is welcomed to the door after the 7:30 am opening. The guests walk through, selecting and filling their bags with the day’s menu items. The objective is to provide nutritious items from all food groups. When available, personal care items are also offered.
How can you help?
Volunteer
Help may be needed picking up donated food from local vendors or the food bank, setting up before the pantry, or distributing food on pantry days. Please fill out and submit our volunteer information form online.
Organize a food drive
Food drives organized by individuals, community organizations or businesses are always welcome. We will help identify the groceries most needed and the best approach for a successful food drive.

Your tax-deductible funds are greatly appreciated and used to purchase produce and other specialized food items.
