Explore Asian American & Pacific Islander Identity During AAPI Month

On Sunday, folks gathered to view and discuss a short documentary in which Asian Americans confront stereotypes about their community. Themes included American identity vs. Asian-American identity, early memories of racism, the Model Minority Myth, and the diversity of experience within the Asian-American community. Resources include fiction and non-fiction books from the UUA bookstore, census data that reveals how the Asian population has become geographically diverse with wide variations in income, citizenship status and political preference, and recent survey data about anti-Asian hate.
