October 8th: Service & Justice Soup Workshop at North Parish

  • Service 10am – 11am: “Moving  Towards  an  Indigenous  Worldview”
    Our planet faces so many crises, it can be hard to read the news. And yet throughout the world, Indigenous nations hold out a different way of being. Guest preacher Claire Karl Miller will speak to this vision, finding our personal stake in it and what the state-wide legislative coalition UU Mass Action is doing with Indigenous leaders here in MA .
  • Justice Soup 11am – 12:30pm: Learn about the justice teams at North Parish and UU Mass Action priority legislation for Indigenous justice with Claire Karl Miller. Sponsored by North Parish’s Racial Justice, Climate Justice and Community Action teams. (Light lunch offered; please bring your own water bottle if possible!) All are welcome! October 14th: Crossroads Concert Series: The Crystal Shawanda Band

Multiple Juno Award winning performer (including 2021 Blues Album of the Year, 2013 Best Aboriginal Artist), Crystal Shawanda, is a Canadian Indigenous artist who grew up in Wiikwemkoong First Nation on Manitoulin Island in Northern Ontario. Her latest fiery blues collection, Midnight Blues (also Juno-nominated), showcases her full-throated, raspy voice, unmatched in today’s musical landscape; her 2008 album, Dawn of the New Day, was the highest charting album by a full-blooded indigenous country artist (in the SoundScan-era).
