Walking Tour of Banners in Old Center

February 5, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Bundle up for a 1.7-mile walk to see four of the eight banners created for Black History Month, and learn a bit about the people being celebrated.  Hot chocolate will be served half way through the tour.

Park around the Common and meet at the corner of Osgood and Andover Street at 11:00 am and we’ll walk over to Stevens Coolidge House and Gardens.

On this tour you will learn about Elizabeth Freeman at the Stevens Coolidge House, William Monroe Trotter at the Youth Center, Salem Poor at the Historical Society and Cato Freeman at North Parish church.  Lastly, we’ll head down Academy Road to the Second Burying Ground where Cato Freeman is buried before heading back to our cars.

Due to limited space, reservations are highly recommended. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.  For more information send an email by clicking here.
