Black History Month Talk Sunday February 5 at 3:30 pm: African American Women and Social Change- Stages of Liberation

Dr. Cheryl Townsend Gilkes will speak on “African American Women and Social Change – Stages of Liberation” as part of the North Andover Celebrates Black History Month 2023 Program series. Dr. Gilkes is the author of the book , If It Wasn’t for the Women: Black Women’s Experience and Womanist Culture in Church and Community, and will bring copies of the book for sale and to sign. Musical Opening by Minister Michael Belcher of Andover Baptist Church. The talk will be held in the Worden Theater at the North Andover Historical Society, 800 Massachusetts Ave.
