Join the Racial Justice Team for a discussion of Timothy Snyder’s short essays On Tyranny. Each essay finds lessons from 20th century history and provides succinct instruction on preserving a democratic society. The focus of each discussion will be using those lessons to find current strategies and actions that we can take individually and collectively to find the courage to stay engaged, to preserve democracy, and to resist efforts that threaten vulnerable populations and our environment.
There will be four discussion sessions, via Zoom, on March 10, 17, 24, and 31 at 7 PM. Join us for one, two or all if you can. Please RSVP to RacialJustice@northparish.org. Discounted copies of On Tyranny are available at The Purple Couch bookstore in North Andover, mention that you are part of the North Parish book discussion. Rev. Lee also has some extra copies available if needed.
“Continuing to be believe in democracy is a profound act of resistance and courage in a moment like this when we are being told that it no longer matters.” –Joyce Vance
