Back in the fall, the Racial Justice Team came to the Board seeking approval for a grant application for a Black History Month Banner Project that will highlight some of the important – and often overlooked – Black people who are part of the history of this area. The project is in partnership with several local organizations. The Board enthusiastically endorsed the grant application, as well as a request to place the “Cato Freeman” banner on the church building itself during Black History Month. To find out more about the project and/or to financially support the designing and printing of the banners, please visit the Racial Justice pages of the North Parish website.
