Keep Dry Without Undesirable Chemicals

One family of chemicals to watch for is per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) which are a group of man-made chemicals that includes PFOA, PFOS, GenX, and many others. PFAS are found in a wide range of items we use daily such as non-stick cookware, cosmetics, and stain repellents.

Most of us have been exposed to PFAS, in fact 99 % of Americans have it in our blood stream. PFAS pollute water, do not break down, and remain in the environment and people for decades. Some scientists call them “forever chemicals.” There is evidence that exposure to PFAS can lead to adverse health outcomes in humans.
