Bell dedication

Closeup of the top of the labyrinth bell and columnsDedication of our new bell – a beautiful piece of sculpture and sound – will be scheduled this fall. Created under the guidance of clay artist and church member Larry Elardo, the bell is part of a congregation-wide celebration of our 375th birthday. During two days of work sessions, carefully staged with COVID protocols, over 150 members brought personal mementos to leave their mark in clay slabs – medals, pendants, wedding rings, even an impression from the Paul Revere Bell that hangs in our steeple. Larry then shaped those slabs into column pieces, threaded over steel posts which are embedded in three-foot deep footings. We hope it will stand for many years!
