Great Pond Sangha

Meditation as Spiritual Practice grounds us in the sacred body, reconnects us with our inner wisdom, and celebrates our interconnection with all beings and all of nature.

purple lotus flowersGreat Pond Sangha is a community of meditators, founded in 2004 by a small group of North Parish members. Our mission is to provide opportunities for authentic spiritual practice, instruction, and community, primarily in the Mahayana and Natural Awareness traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

Who can participate?

Anyone may join us for meditation, including but not limited to members of North Parish. We welcome all from the wider community who wish to awaken, deepen, and more fully embody the inherent compassion and wisdom which is the essence of our being. Newcomers, beginners and teens are always welcome.

What do you do?

We offer guided and silent meditation sessions each week, including instruction, dharma talks, discussion, Q&A, visiting lamas/teachers, as well as community check-in/social hour times.

Our other activities include retreats, potlucks, movie nights and a book group. We also collaborate with other North Parish and local groups for volunteer service opportunities and explore how we can foster more racial diversity and social justice in our communities and in the world.

Are the programs free?

Yes! Our regular weekly gatherings are always free of charge, donations gratefully accepted. Some activities such as day-long and weekend retreats do have “suggested donations” in order to cover costs. No one is ever turned away for inability to pay. Please consider making a one-time or monthly tax deductible donation to support Great Pond. You can send a check to the church office (write “Sangha” in the memo line) – North Parish Church, 190 Academy Road, North Andover MA 01845 – or use our online Realm link for a credit card donation (select Great Pond Sangha from the dropdown list of Funds).
