North Parish & The Revolution

Interested in Revolutionary history? Next year, 2025, will be the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution. On April 19, 1775, 329 men from the Andovers marched to Lexington, missing the battle but pursuing the British redcoats back to Cambridge. There were also many from North Parish in the battle for Bunker (Breed’s) Hill and other battles.

The Friends of the 1836 Meeting House would welcome a few representatives of the congregation to brainstorm and plan how we might commemorate this anniversary, along with the North Andover Historical Society.  The current Friends trustees are Jen Goldman, John Lennhoff and Keith Wentzel. The Founders are Fred Glore, Debb Putnam and Kathy Stevens.

We would also love to find a few more copies of the North Parish history, And Firm Thine Ancient Vow by Juliet Mofford, to lend from our library. If you have a copy gathering dust on a shelf and would like to donate it, simply bring it to NP or send to North Parish, 190 Academy Road, North Andover, MA, 01845.
