This is a temporary (1 year) position responsible for coordinating and supporting programming for youth (grade equivalents 9 through 12) with the goal of reinvigorating our senior youth group, and engaging adult volunteers to build a solid volunteer base to facilitate the youth group. The aim is to allow the youths to: experience church as a loving space; learn the language of justice; and discover the awesome souls they are. This role will have a commitment to ensure diverse families have a culturally relevant and supportive faith community in which to thrive.
This is a 5 hour per week, 42-week non-exempt position starting mid-August and ending in June. It requires being available (ideally) on Sunday mornings with typically one Saturday a month for service projects or social events, as well as the possibility of one or two evenings per month. It also requires at least weekly meetings with the Director of Family Religious Education (DRFE). Attendance at some weekly staff meetings would be desirable but is not required. Remaining hours are flexible and may vary from week to week.
