Thank you to all from North Parish who attended the 2nd Annual Declaration of Independence Recitation Event last Sunday.  The live program was held on the North Andover Common and included local politicians, community organizers and activists reading the Declaration of Independence, the Frederick Douglass speech The Meaning of July Fourth for the Negro, words from Abraham Lincoln, the Susan B. Anthony speech On Women’s Right to Suffrage, a Frances Harper speech entitled Woman’s Political Future, Martin Luther King’s speech I Have a Dream and President Johnsons speech to Congress on Voting Rights and the American Promise.  We also had music from the Choi-Wright family, 3rd Baptist Church choir, members of the White Street band and Æring.  Thankfully, we had a brief respite from the rain during the Event.  All the speakers and performers, including some from North Parish, did a wonderful job.  If you missed the Event or want to see it again and share with friends, here is the link to the video on the Friends of the 1836 Meeting House website:  https://www.1836meetinghouse.org/events
