“Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.”
– Mary Oliver
Last Sunday we “called in the spring” in fine fashion, thanks to the Choir. Thanks also to Kat for teaching us all about having a “sit spot”, as well as for their stewardship witness and leading the kids on a walk where they learned about having “deer ears” and how to “fox walk”.
All three people who shared their personal reflections as part of our March month of stewardship told deeply powerful and moving stories. Thanks to them and thanks to the Stewardship Team for all of their hard work this month. Thanks also to so many who pledged generously! The drive ends this Sunday so the leadership can create next year’s budget based on what we can reasonably expect to raise next year in congregational giving.
Are we on the right track, here at North Parish? Here are a few comments from our younger people that have been overheard by staff members recently: “This church is full of love.” “It’s good to reset once a week.” And, when asked if they were going to church, “Hell, yeah!” It’s a really good sign when the children and youth show support and enthusiasm for the congregation.
For those of you who will be traveling to see family for Passover or an early Easter this next week, safe travels! For those of you who are trying out a “sit spot”, may it help calm your spirit as the spring unfolds.
Yours, walking through the world with care,
Rev. Lee
