Experience UUA General Assembly

General Assembly (GA), the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) annual gathering for connection, democratic governance, worship, and learning is happening next month! As the UUA continues to make GA more accessible, this year is a multi-platform event. Many UUs will gather in person in Baltimore, MD and others will join online on Wednesday, June 18 through Sunday, June 22. Learn more and register for GA at UUA.org/GA.

General Assembly is filled with many beloved traditions like the Congregational Recognition & Banner Parade; all sorts of Worship Services, workshops, elections and Ware Lecturers.

It was written in a recent GA newsletter/email: “When UU’s come together as a faith community, especially in these difficult times, we find strength and solace in our connections to one another, in meaningful worship, and in learning alongside one another as we do the work to move our faith forward and respond to the world as it is.”

I have attended our UUA General Assembly both in-person and online many times, most often as a Delegate. Delegates are critically important to the democratic process at General Assembly. Delegates can also register for business-only access to the Delegate Platform. North Parish is a Certified Member Congregation and we are allowed up to 7 delegates to vote during the General Sessions. I will be attending as a delegate online again this year. Please join me as a delegate by submitting your name to the Board of Trustees at boardoftrustees@northparish.org or just attend GA as a curious UU. We’d love to hear from you either way.

As a multi-platform event, this year’s General Assembly will offer live-streaming free for some programming, like General Sessions and Sunday Worship, while other online programming will require registration to access the content on demand. Learn more about the General Assembly schedule, different forms of registration, and financial assistance for joining GA 2025 this year at UUA.org/GA.

Hope to see you there!
In Faith and Trust, Cara Forcino
