On Saturday, April 30, North Parish volunteers will be helping to frame a new duplex for Habitat for Humanity at 25-27 Spruce Street in Lawrence. Building skills are not required, and new volunteers are often paired with experienced Habitat builders. While a full-day (8:30 – 4) commitment is appreciated, those able to join us for just the morning are also welcome.
Over the past three years, more than 20 North Parish volunteers helped construct four recently-completed duplex homes on Lupine Road in Andover.howe8788@gmail.com.
Here in Essex County, our local Habitat group has built 114 affordable homes and rehabbed an additional 41 homes since 1985. Habitat homeowners earn between 40% and 60% of the area median income and contribute at least 240 volunteer hours of “sweat equity.” For further information or to volunteer, contact Dick Howe at 978-475-4955 or
