This year’s book fundraiser will benefit the newly arrived refugee children living in the Greater Lowell area. We are looking for new or gently used books appropriate for ages pre-K – 3rd grade to make 30 bundles. Books can be dropped off in the Parlor beginning April 30th through May 14th.
The refugee families are currently assisted by the International Institute of New England (IINE). The IINE’s mission is to create opportunities for refugees and immigrants to succeed through resettlement, education, job placement, and pathways to citizenship. Our 3rd-5th graders have made welcome cards and bookmarks to add to colorful cinch bags that will also include a donated book, notebook, crayons, and a stuffed animal. Starting Sunday, April 30th, we will provide materials on tables in the Parlor for anyone who wishes to make a Welcome card. Thank you for supporting our youth and this year’s book fundraiser.
