DESCRIPTION:Come join the North Parish book group as we discuss the movie News of the World on Wednesday\, December 8 at 7:00 pm on Zoom. There are many copies available through the library system and you can also stream the movie on HBO Max. We hope that you will take a break with us from the busy holiday season. One reviewer wrote\, “There’s something comforting about giving yourself over to an undeniably talented group of artists for two hours and just letting them tell you a story.” Five years after the end of the Civil War\, Capt. Jefferson Kyle Kidd crosses paths with a 10-year-old girl taken by the Kiowa people. Forced to return to her aunt and uncle\, Kidd agrees to escort the child across the harsh and unforgiving plains of Texas. However\, the long journey soon turns into a fight for survival as the traveling companions encounter danger at every turn — both human and natural. \nJanuary’s book is Anxious People by Fredrik Backman\, the very popular author of A Man Called Ove.
