DESCRIPTION:A performance event making visible the stories\, accomplishments\, and legacy of six African American people/families from the Merrimack Valley\, Essex County\, and Greater Boston whose influence helped to shape our region in the pivotal decades of the late 19th and early 20th century. An invitation to community members of all ages to think more broadly about who is included in their town history and in the story of Massachusetts and invites them to discover and reflect on the contributions of Josephine St. Pierre Ruffin\, Charlotte Forten\, William Clarence Matthews\, and William Munroe Trotter to the local area\, to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts\, and to our nation.
