SUMMARY:The History Of The Indigeonous People Of New England & The Apology
DESCRIPTION:Join Rolling Ridge ONLINE on Tuesday\, October 12th from 11 am to 1 pm (the day after Indigenous People Day/Columbus Day) as we discover the history of the Indigenous People of New England and the laws which have silenced this community for generations. \nWe also look at “the Apology.” On December 19\, 2009\, President Obama signed an appropriations bill into law. Buried within it was an apology to American Indians that remains unrecognized. \nCurious? We invite you to learn more as we unpack this with Paul and Denise Pouliot\, leaders within the Cowasuck Band of the Pennacook Abenaki People. \nRegister here (no fee) to get the Zoom link: https://www.rollingridge.org/event/the-apology-to-the-native-people-of-new-england-15429094 \n  \nContact the Racial Justice Team for more information.
