When I go into the garden with a spade, and dig a bed, I feel such an exhilaration and health that I discover that I have been defrauding myself all this time in letting others do for me what I should have done with my own hands.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson, Unitarian (1803-1882)

Have you found a spiritual home at North Parish?New Member Sunday
Have you begun to identify yourself as a Unitarian Universalist?
If so, we invite you to join us as a full participant in the life of the congregation by becoming a member.

As a North Parish member, you become part of a covenanted community that extends back in time for 368 years, will extend far into the future, and is connected to a long religious tradition of those who have agreed to walk together.  Our covenant of membership is what holds us together as a congregation– not creeds.

Members enjoy both the benefits of this “spiritual home” and carry the responsibility for maintaining it.  As a member, you will have access to rites of passage performed by the minister, a robust religious education program, voting privileges, the ability to serve as a UU delegate and chairperson.  Members are expected to participate in our worship services and church activities, support the congregation finnaically and participate in its democratic governance.  Members understand that North Parish is working hard to be a beacon of liberal faith in the Merrimack Valley and want to help in that process by giving of themselves.  We hope you will join us.

Membership is open to anyone eighteen or over who subscribes to the working principles of a free faith. It is also open to anyone who has completed a UU Coming of Age program and is at least fifteen years of age. There is no other test of creed or faith, and no test of national origin, race, class, gender, sexual or affectional orientation, gender identification, economic status, physical or mental disability imposed as a condition of membership.
