Are you looking for a beautiful space for a wedding?
Are you in need of a sanctuary for a memorial service?
Are you looking for a useful space for a special gathering or group meeting?
North Parish may be able to accommodate your needs.
At North Parish, we gladly welcome all couples seeking a marriage ceremony symbolizing their life-long religious and legal commitment to one another. Our beautiful sanctuary – with its grand piano and organ – provides a spacious, dignified, historical setting for weddings. Small outdoor weddings can also be conducted in the Meditation Garden or on the labyrinth, with the sanctuary as back-up in case of rain.
Those planning a wedding ceremony should download and consult Your Wedding Ceremony Pamphlet. To inquire about available dates, please contact us. To reserve a date please complete the Wedding Information Form and return it to the Congregational Administrator.
A Note about Officiants and Musicians for Weddings/Memorials
The Rev. Lee Bluemel is available to conduct rites of passage for North Parish members and their immediate family members only. She is available to perform such services at the North Parish Meeting House; other locations may be possible if within reasonable driving distance. Dates and location should be discussed at the first meeting with the minister. There are no fees for church members for these services. Gifts or contributions to the Minister’s Discretionary Fund are gratefully accepted.
If music is part of your rite of passage, the North Parish Music Director John Middleton-Cox may be available and should be contacted directly. Ultimately, those turning to North Parish for a rite of passage are responsible for finalizing musicians.
The wedding brochure and the office can provide the names and contact information of alternate officiants and musicians for non-members. Those wishing to “bring their own clergy” should note that the congregation will make such arrangements on a case-by-case basis.
In the UU tradition, memorial services are a time to both grieve our loss and celebrate the life of the person who has died. Families meet with the minister in person prior to a memorial or funeral service to be guided in its creation and purpose. An important part of our services are the eulogies or remembrances of the one who has died. Readings and music are selected to reflect the individual. Family members can choose to participate in the service as they wish.
Those wishing to designate a memorial at North Parish in memory of loved ones have several options including contributions to the Memorial Fund, or permanent remembrances and/or memorial plantings in the Memorial Garden.
North Parish is available for rental to members for non-church related functions. Our facilities include: church sanctuary with piano and organ, parish hall, kitchen, parlor, chapel as well as meeting rooms. Please contact the Congregational Administrator at firstname.lastname@example.org for information on fees. If you are interested in renting space for meetings, please do the following:
