Worship ServicesWe covenant together to be a welcoming spiritual community, where all are safe and free to search for spiritual meaning in their own ways. We find strength in the many forms of diversity. Sunday services at 9 am and 11 am
Our Sanctuary Chalice. Our Senior Minister, Lee Blumel, and our Assistant Minister, Frank Clarkson, usually lead worship at North Parish. About once a month our Director of Religious Education, Gail Forsyth-Vail, participates in intergenerational services. Volunteer Worship Assistants support and participate in worship in a number of ways. We also offer lay-led services and welcome guest preachers. We hope you will join us for coffee and conversation in our Parish Hall following each Sunday service. During the summer (late June through August) we offer a single Sunday service at 10 AM. MusicMusic is an integral part of our worship services. Our diverse music program, directed by Interim Music Director Grace Choi, includes an adult choir, world music ensemble, recorder ensemble, vocal octet, and a variety of musical guests, most of whom are members of the parish. We welcome all members and friends with musical talent or interest to get involved in the music program. Flowers and SteeplelightingMembers contribute to our weekly flowers and steeplelighting in honor of, or memory of, loved ones. Flower memorials and steeplelighting are both $25.00. You may specify any flower arrangement preferences, or bring a bouquet of flowers of your own choice and arrangement, (this dmust arrange in advance.) You may take your weeks’ arrangement home after the 11AM service. The steeple lighting donation covers the electrical cost of lighting the steeple that week. Contact Jerusha Ryan or Susan Manning

Community Worship for Children and Youth (9am and 11am)High School Youth are welcome and encouraged to attend worship in the sanctuary. While some teens prefer to sit with their families, those who are looking to sit with peers generally sit in the front left section of pews (on the side opposite the piano). Children in Grades One through Six begin their time in Old Center Hall with a half-hour children's worship service, during which a wisdom story is shared that forms the basis of the age-group sessions that follow. Children in Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten begin in their own space and have a brief centering time and chalice lighting as they begin. Youth in Grades Seven and Eight begin in their own space with a brief opening worship and centering. Children younger than age four are welcome in our nursery during service, where our adult nursery supervisor and trained teenage assistants provide supervision and care. ALL children and youth (except nursery-aged children) join their families for the opening part of worship in the sanctuary about one Sunday a month. Adult Spiritual DevelopmentMembers often form spiritual affiliations based on their own spiritual beliefs and quests, which we are happy to host. Please see the Adult Spirituality page for more information. |
