Partner Church

Marosvasarhely (Marh-var’-sha-hay), Romania, is one of the earliest centers of UU’ism dating back to the 1600s. It’s a place where the Hungarian population is struggling with many social and economic issues. And it’s also the home of our Partner Church, the First and Second Parish Unitarian Universalist.

On Sunday, March 11th, 2007, we celebrated our Fifth Annual Partner Church Sunday. This year, we were “Serving Up Strudels!” after both services, to raise awareness of the issues facing our friends overseas and to raise funds for university scholarships ($400 per year) and medical assistance ($5 per doctor’s visits).
